I am writing to you regarding the ‘Matching Service’ that has been created by Yorkshire Sport Foundation, formally known as West Yorkshire Sport. The ‘Matching Service’ will help take the hassle out of recruiting volunteers from clubs and organisations. Yorkshire Sport Foundation will manage the process of advertising the volunteering position and shortlisting the applicants.

Once the attached application form is completed and sent back to Yorkshire Sport Foundation, we will create an advertisement to display on our website that will then be open for volunteers to apply for your role. The volunteer vacancy will not only be advertised on our website, it will also be promoted via our various forms of social media and sent to our partners.

To make the recruitment process easier for yourself, we will create a shortlist of those who have applied for the position for you to then use when appointing a volunteer. Once the volunteer is selected, Yorkshire Sport Foundation will liaise with someone from the club to ensure the hours are being completed. This releases the pressure on the club knowing that Yorkshire Sport Foundation are still here to help even once the volunteer has been chosen and their hours are underway.

A benefit of the ‘Matching Service’ is that you will receive £50 funding to spend on the volunteer from Yorkshire Sport Foundation, if your volunteer completes a minimum of 10 hours volunteering before the end of March 2017. Once the volunteer’s hours are completed, the club must identify how the funding will be spent before Yorkshire Sport Foundation distribute the money and it must then be matched by yourselves.
