haworthcc logoHaworth Cricket Club has been in existence at least since 1887 and has played at our current location since 1951 after a bucket collection helped to buy the field.

In 2010 the club had a social room extension built thanks to a Big Lottery Fund and Bradford Council grants along with club savings after externsive renovation took place on the existing building. In 2012, our 125th Anniversary year, HCC gained Clubmark status and won the Craven & District League for the first time. The work on clubhouse and ground never stops with Sport England generously providing us with new pitch drainage last year and the ECB gave us a Small Grant for a new kitchen last year - exciting times!

The club has two senior sides and are working very hard on re-establishing a Haworth CC junior section which sadly disappeared three or four years ago. It is hoped to have a junior side in the UAJCA again next year.

Haworth CC is very pro-active in terms of hosting events other than cricket and, in recent years has been open for fell runners and a few cyclists with the Tour de France in 2014, not to mention charity days and car parking, family birthday, anniversary and christening parties. Our name and real ale bar is becoming quite well-known by now! All local organisations in the Worth Valley know they can always ask us if they need a venue.

Nothing could be better though, than a good day's cricket in the sun, the sound of steam trains chuffing along the valley, a butty in one hand, a cup of tea in the other and a good home score on the board!
