Tong Park Esholt Cricket Club is a local, community based club running 3 senior Saturday teams and 3 junior teams at Under 11, 13 and 15 levels. New & old members are always welcome.

2008 saw the merger of 2 local clubs, Tong Park CC and Esholt CC, to form one. This decision was made to secure the futures of both clubs and resulted in a shift in focus from paying players to encouraging and developing local talent and youngsters who want to feel part of an open and friendly club.

We now run 3 senior sides playing on a Saturday, 2 in the Aire Wharf League playing from our main ground on Esholt Lane and our 3rd XI playing their home games at the picturesque Tong Park ground next to Tong Park Dam in the Dales Council League. We are in a transitional phase as our older players make way, we look to bring in young players in their place as well as promoting talent from our youth sides.

Our evening league side play in the popular 20 over format on a Wednesday night competing in the A division of the Bradford & District Evening League.

After a very successful 2014 which saw our Under 11s lift the league cup, we expanded our junior section to 3 sides with an Under 15s started up to run alongside our Under 11s and 13s. In fact 4 of our Under 15s side have featured consistently in our senior sides in 2016 encouraging development throughout the club. The success is largely due to the excellent coaching provided by one of our 1st XI players AJ Weerapulli who has established himself as a well-respected youth coach in the area working with local schools and running coaching sessions for youngsters of all ages.
This season we have moved into the Junior Bradford League to reduce travel for the juniors, their families and supporters – making it easier for even more young local talent to get involved.

The club has recently achieved the highly regarded ECB Clubmark accreditation and aims to provide opportunities, through cricket, for all ages and abilities. This is proving increasingly popular with the local community and we have recently established a link with Hoyle Court Primary School in Baildon to provide cricket coaching for it's pupils.

Boxing Day 2015 saw the club devastated by unprecedented flooding causing widespread damage to not only the field but also the pavilion including stewards living accommodation, changing rooms, cricket equipment, walls and fencing and ground maintenance equipment. The club incurred costs in the region of £50,000. We have sought help from the ECB and Sport England as well as organizing a number of fund-raising events and have set about rebuilding our proud community club. We recently had a brand new replacement practice facility installed funded by the ECB and are currently awaiting funding to redevelop the cricket field in time for our return to HQ in 2017. We are determined to improve our facilities and become a stronger club despite the winter's events.
